From: Steven W.
Fitschen, President Re: Christmas and New Year greetings and year end request
Just a quick note to wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year.
As I like to remind all of our friends each year, Christmas is
a special time here at the National Legal Foundation because the NLF is not just a public interest law firm. We are also a Christian ministry. We do
what we do because we believe God has called us to this task.
If
there were no Christmas, there would be no NLF.
Since 1985, one of the most important things we have done is make sure
there is freedom to preach the Gospel – including
the Christmas message –
This
year you have helped us do so much to
defend religious freedom. As just one
example, we just filed another brief in the Pledge of Allegiance case this past
Friday . . . our third brief in this
case!
You
have also helped us do so much more. You
have helped us fight the radical homosexual agenda. And yet, we know
that next year’s battle – and the battle into the foreseeable future – will be
even fiercer now that the You have also helped us stand up to the ACLU and others as we defended the Ten Commandments yet again. You have helped us fight Internet pornography. The list goes on and on. These are just a few examples of why your financial support is so critical. As you know, our services are free to our clients. After all, how, for example, can a group of high school kids afford to pay us to defend their rights?
As I
often remind you, when we win a case for our clients, we don’t
get a percentage of what our clients win . . . because our clients don’t win
money. They win the right to exercise their
religion.
That’s why you are so important to us. YOU ARE THE LIFE BLOOD OF THE NLF. Without
your prayers and donations, we could not do what God has called us to do. As the year ends –and in the first few months of 2004 – we have an immediate need to eliminate the financial shortfall caused by our battles against the ACLU, the radical homosexuals, and the militant secularists. |
